Yoga for Pregnancy (6 individual prenatal workouts)

>> October 6, 2010

Yoga for Pregnancy (6 individual prenatal workouts)I highly recommend this DVD; it has been extremely helpful during my pregnancy. I have already purchased another one of her DVDs and plan to purchase more. I love how she points out the benefits and reasons for breathing techniques and poses (i.e. preventing leg cramps, aiding digestion, increasing circulation, easing back pain etc.). I did not do the workouts until the end of my terrible morning sickness and wish I would have started earlier because it really helped. I especially like how the positions work toward opening hips and getting baby into the right position in the third trimester. The workouts provide practice for breathing during labor. I am more confident about labor and plan on using some of the positions during labor.
Ann provides workouts that are challenging, and at the same time, relaxing and gentle on your body. She does a great job of showing modifications that help you to build up to the full workouts or help if you are not feeling well. It works well for me if I want to push myself or if I want something easier just to motivate myself to get moving a bit. I notice a difference even if I only have time for a couple of the positions. Ann's voice is soothing and does not get annoying like voices on many other workout DVD's out there. I also like the relaxing music and backgrounds.

Ann clearly has a lot of experience with both pregnancy and yoga--which is comforting as she guides you through workouts that specifically address the needs of the trimesters and problems of pregnancy. She has a lot of empathy for what you are going through.
